As a reminder, the state's open burning ban begins March 15 and goes through May 15. Due to warming temperatures and low relative humidity, the chances for a fire to jump a barrier and spread rapidly dramatically increase. You may still open burn clean brush but it does require a permit (until the 15th) which can be issued (for free) by calling the station at 401-539-2229 or seeing one of the Chiefs or Captains in person.
