| Recently this winter, Hope Valley-Wyoming firefighters responded to two cat rescues.
On December 18, 2010 Hope Valley-Wyoming firefighters responded to 208 New London Turnpike to rescue an orange cat, Oliver, stuck high up in a tree. With the danger of low wires running to the house Deputy Chief Jason Caswell positioned the ladder truck out of harms way so Firefighter David Richardson could safely bring the cat back to its owners, Alexsandra and Rachael Eva.
On February 22, 2011 Hope Valley-Wyoming firefighters responded to 1 O'Keefe Drive to rescue a black and white cat, Macy, who had also been stuck in a tree. With the ladder fully extended Firefighter George Swallow was able to rescue the cat and bring it back on solid ground to its owners Meredith and Matthew Lindenberg.
These two cat rescues were not the first cat rescues for the department and surely won't be the last.
