HOPE VALLEY — A fire caused by ashes destroyed two sheds on a residential property Wednesday afternoon.
Hope ValleyWyoming Fire Chief Frederick A.
Stanley said firefighters responded to 8 Brook Drive after several calls were made at about 2:30 p.m.
Ashes from a fireplace that were dumped in a dirt area behind the sheds, along with wind, caused the metal and plastic storage sheds to catch on fire, Stanley said. One was filled with belongings and the other contained Christmas decorations.
The fire was determined to be accidental, Stanley said.
The occupants of the house, owned by Edward and Wendy Costa, were home at the time of the fires. Stanley said there were no injuries.
Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour. Ashaway Fire Department and Hope Valley Ambulance also responded.
