| At the monthly board meeting lastnight Captain Jason Caswell was appointed to 3rd Deputy Chief , the position was left open by former Deputy Chief Don Johnson who moved on to be a union firefighter with the town of West Warwick .
Jason joined the department in 1997 as an explorer and was voted in as a full member in 1998 . Jason is a NFPA 1001 Level 1 & 2 certified , Hazmat technician and is a Rhode Island certified EMT-B , he has served as an Engine LT and as a Captain for the last 4 years .
Jason has been awarded several citations and awards for his acomplishments including the Robert Stanley Volunteer of the year in 2000 and the Arthur Stanley Fireman of the year in 2002. |
