Today was the final class for the 80-hour Hazardous Materials Technician program. This program teaches the fundamentals required to mitigate hazardous materials incidents with several practical skill exercises to prove competency as well as a written examination. We are proud to say that all of the members who tested passed and are now technicians-level personnel.
Congratulations to Lieutenant Phil Burdick and Matt Heroux as well as firefighters Brennan Reynolds, Brian Mayer, Sam Dipollino, Garrett Kembell, and Greg Roberts for taking on the challenge and excelling.
These new technicians join the ranks of the state's only volunteer hazmat team based out of Hope Valley as we proudly cover the southern end of the state for hazardous materials releases.
