Hazmat team completes training

Members of the Hope Valley Hazmat team along with members from other state hazmat teams spent the past weekend training on our new propane water injection equipment at the Rhode Island Fire Academy. This Propane water injection equipment will allow us to turn a propane leak on a damaged tank into a water leak minimizing the hazard while the propane is flared off safely. Hope Valley is currently the only hazmat team in the state with the equipment and ability to do this.
Ron Huffman from Responder Training Enterprises LLC was the lead instructor for the event.
Special thanks to Amerigas for the propane and for training alongside the team. Special thanks also to the Fire academy for use of their facility.
