Chief Stanley Honored by RIAFC

Chief Frederick A. Stanley was honored on January 24th for his 50 years of service as Chief of the Hope Valley Wyoming Fire District by the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs. Executive Director Chief Richard Susi of RIAFC presented Chief Stanley a ceremonial gavel and plaque naming him President Emeritus of the RIAFC. This is the first time in the association's 48 year history that they have bestowed this honor to a Chief. Chief Stanley has served as the organizations President on three different occasions and was instrumental in helping form the association. Chief Susi also commented on Chief Stanley's many other accomplishments such as helping to form the Fire Marshal's office, the RI Fire Academy, and his commitment to education and training. Chief Stanley has also served on the RIAFC foundation board which helps with Firefighter education and training and the Honor Flight for veterans. Chief Stanley thanked his wife Silvia, his entire family, and the officers and members of the Hope Valley - Wyoming Fire District for all their support through the years. Congratulations Chief Stanley!
