| This past Saturday on March 23, 2013, the Hope Valley-Wyoming Fire District held their 31st Annual Awards Banquet at the Meadowbrook Inn in Charlestown. This year celebrated more than just our usual award winners. This year we celebrated William Day's 50 years of service to the Hope Valley-Volunteer Fire Association, Inc. We also swore in three new officers. Patrick Hawkins and Christopher Straight became Lieutenants and Lieutenant Andrew Briody became a Captain.
This year's awards recipients are as follows:
Arthur Stanley Firefighter of the Year - Deputy Chief David Caswell
Robert Stanley Volunteer of the Year - Emma Thompson (First female recipient of this award)
Stanley Napper Dedicated Service Award - Lieutenant Patrick Hawkins
Joseph Brusseau Rookie of the Year - Michael Napolitano
Special Service Award - Deputy Chief Brian Champlin & Captain John Vuono
Dedicated Service Award - David Richardson & Michael Deniger
Dedicated to the Community Award - Richmond Police Chief Elwood Johnson, Jr. For his leadership and dedication to serving the Special Olympics
Community Service Award - Union Fire Chief Robert Perry and the Union Fire District's Training Academy
Haz-Mat Team Award - Richard Girton
Junior Firefighter of the Year - Mark Wheeler
