This past year we had a Captain and a Lieutenant step down on our department. This left two open positions for our firefighters to fill. However, Captains must be Lieutenants before becoming promoted to a Captains position. This meant that we needed to fill two Lieutenants positions once the Captain's position was filled. We began the process back in January and since then candidates completed a written test and an interview. All that applied for the officers positions proved to be excellent candidates and made it a tough choice for the Board of Engineers. During this month's Board of Engineers meeting, it was decided that Lieutenant Andy Briody would move up and become our new Captain and Chris Straight and Patrick Hawkins would become our two new Lieutenants. All of us at the Hope Valley-Wyoming Fire District would like to congratulate the three newly appointed officers and we wish you the best of luck!
